Wonderful Bhutan
Seven days spanning Thimphu, Punakha, the crane valley of Phobjikha, and Paro.
Overview
Journey highlights
This route is designed for travelers who want to see more of western Bhutan at a comfortable pace. Beyond the classic Thimphu–Punakha–Paro circuit, the journey extends into the Phobjikha valley — a broad, glacier-carved wilderness valley at 2900m that serves as the winter home for endangered black-necked cranes migrating from Tibet every October through February. Gangtey Gompa, the largest monastery of the Nyingmapa sect in western Bhutan, anchors the valley experience.
